There are actually five key soil types in Spain. Two are greatly distributed but of restricted extent: alluvial soils, located in the most important valleys and coastal plains, and poorly formulated, or truncated, mountain soils. Brown forest soils are limited to humid Galicia and Cantabria. Acidic
